Bonnie is a landscape photographer based in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Before moving to the Sandhills, Bonnie lived in Washington DC. Since 2006, Bonnie has sold her photographs of North Carolina and New England to both local and international clients.
Bonnie writes:
"After a 30-year career as a college counselor, I am delighted to finally be able to pursue photography full-time. Photography has always been an important part of my life. My parents bought me my first 35mm SLR camera when I was 14. I was hooked! With my Mamiya, I moved beyond snapping pictures of family and friends to challenging myself to create images that are stirring and memorable. The journey between these two points has been both stimulating and daunting. Although I long to capture that “perfect, awe inspiring shot,” I know that experiencing nature’s beauty and sharing what I see is satisfying in its own right. Photography is a way to express my love of color, composition and design. A fascination with light drives my work. When shooting landscapes, I prefer early morning light and often shoot before dawn. Today I use a pro-level, full-frame Nikon digital camera."
Bonnie has studied photography at the Corcoran School of Art and attended numerous photography workshops. She holds a Master’s degree in counseling and an undergraduate degree in psychology.
