Stephanie Slack is an award-winning 24-year-old artist whose passion for creativity began at an early age. At just 11, she dove into formal art education with enthusiasm, exploring a wide range of artistic mediums. In 2024, she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from East Carolina University, concentrating in painting and drawing. With her sights set on furthering her expertise, Stephanie plans to pursue a Master of Fine Arts in the future.
An accomplished oil painter, Stephanie’s work often explores themes of memory and personal experience, with figures and evocative representations of her own life recurring as central subjects. For her, art serves as a means to document moments and seasons, transforming them into visual narratives that can be shared with the world. In addition to her work in oils, she enjoys exploring other mediums, including watercolor, pastel, and textiles.
Stephanie has recently ventured into the intricate world of hand-woven textiles, inspired by her acquisition of a loom. Her weaving reflects the same thoughtfulness and artistry found in her paintings, as she experiments with texture, color, and pattern to create stunning, one-of-a-kind pieces. Her hand-woven works are a testament to her versatility and dedication to mastering new skills, blending traditional techniques with her own modern aesthetic.
Currently, Stephanie is the lead framer at Eye Candy Gallery & Framing, where her keen eye for detail and artistic sensibility enhance her custom framing work. Whether painting, weaving, or framing, Stephanie continues to push the boundaries of her creativity, leaving a lasting impression on all who encounter her work.
