A woman of dark waters, born under a Piscean alignment, enamored with the color blue, this forest dweller is a proclaimed "Multi-Dimensional Artist". Jenay resides in Moore County, North Carolina, where she dreams about indigo waters, distant mountains and lush gardens.
Jenay’s paintings, predominately in oils, offer a vibrant brightness and playful contrast. Her work is fun and ever-changing, evoking feelings of vastness, fluidity, and an escape to another realm. Jenay’s inspiration pulls from vast spaces, dynamic figures, and the Post-Impressionistic art movement popular at the turn of the 20th Century.
Jenay was featured on the cover of Pinestraw Magazine in March 2020 with her Painted Pony "Like Water for Horses" which was auctioned off as part of the annual fundraiser for the Carolina Horse Park in Raeford, North Carolina. In 2021, Jenay created another Painted Pony for the Carolina Horse Park. This second pony, titled "The Sun and her Flowers", was a crowd favorite and was auctioned off to raise funds for the horse park.
Her first solo exhibition, "When Loblollies Dream," took place at Eye Candy Gallery in February 2022. She is currently working on a joint exhibition project with Pat McBride which will open at the Arts Council of Moore County in September 2024.
Jenay recently became the Executive Director of the Anson County Arts Council in Wadesboro, NC.
