Jeanine Carfagna is a retired nurse and clinical administrator whose life journey has been as dynamic as her art. As a former nomadic Army wife, she spent several years moving from place to place, raising three children and finding time to fit in oil painting classes whenever and wherever possible. Now settled in Southern Pines, NC, Jeanine is pursuing her long-held passion for painting through ongoing classes at Eye Candy Gallery.
In the summer of 2022, Jeanine achieved a milestone when one of her paintings was displayed at the Pentagon as part of the Patriot Art Program, an exhibition highlighting various aspects of military life. Her featured painting was inspired by a photograph from renowned aviation photographer Jim “Hazy” Haseltine, capturing an F-35 jet soaring over Utah’s Wasatch Mountains. The piece held special significance, as the pilot of the jet was her son-in-law.
Jeanine’s artwork primarily focuses on animals, birds, flowers, and landscapes, often reflecting the natural beauty that inspires her. Her paintings also occasionally pay homage to her roots, depicting scenes from the Northern Neck of Virginia, where she grew up. With her vibrant and heartfelt works, Jeanine continues to explore and develop the creative passion she has nurtured throughout her life.
