Jeanine Carfagna is a retired nurse and clinical administrator who also spent "a few years" as a nomadic army wife. Those years also included rearing three children, so oil painting classes were fitted in wherever and whenever possible. Now, Jeanine is continuing classes at Eye Candy Gallery in Southern Pines, NC, pursuing the hobby she has long wanted to develop.
In the summer of 2022, one of her paintings was displayed in the Pentagon during an exhibition titled the Patriot Art Program, depicting all aspects of military life. The painting was inspired by a photograph taken by the well-known aviation photographer Jim "Hazy" Haseltine of a F-35 jet flying over the Wasatch Mountains in western Utah. The pilot in the F-35 was her son-in-law.
Jeanine mostly paints animals, birds, flowers and landscapes. Included in her artwork are occasional paintings of the area where she grew up -- The Northern Neck of Virginia.
