Jean has had a love for art since childhood, winning many awards for her art pieces in both school and state competitions. She continued her college education at Virginia Commonwealth University, earning a B.S. Degree in Business Administration and Management, which lead her away from the artists world to corporate jobs in training and human resources management as well as project management in cyber security. During that time, Jean continued to explore different art techniques, taking lessons in watercolor and acrylic painting.
Jean grew up and lived just outside of Richmond, Virginia, until she and her husband, Charlie, made the decision to move to the North Carolina Sandhills in 2008. After retiring in late 2017, a friend introduced her to oil painting and subsequently to artist Frank Pierce. While studying oil painting for the last four years with Frank, she has enhanced her artistic skills and regained her passion for art. Her oil painting pieces now capture her love for flowers, animals and the water.
